CaregiverU is a collaboration of 30 Central Texas non-profit agencies and community organizations, joining together to bring support and resources to families that are caring for an older loved one.
Classes are offered at no cost to participants with class locations in Travis, Williamson, Hays, and Bastrop counties. Classes are offered multiple times throughout the year at various locations in the Central Texas area, depending on which agency is hosting and teaching the course.
CaregiverU is excited to offer three different courses for caregivers and their family members:
- Powerful Tools for Caregivers:
A six-week course that provides emotional support for family caregivers.

AGE’s Interrelated Programs:
Adult Day Health Care
Adult day health care is the signature program of AGE of Central Texas, and is available at AGE’s headquarters location in Central Austin and in Round Rock. The only two licensed programs of their kind locally, AGE’s adult day programs are managed by a professional staff, including a nurse who is onsite at all times. AGE’s staff specializes in Alzheimer’s and memory loss care, as well as in creating a community-oriented atmosphere where older adults interact with their peers. Caregiver Education and Resources
AGE offers one-on-one counseling, information and referral, as well as educational events and support groups, for people who provide care to an aging or disabled adult. AGE’s resource library offers a wealth of information to help caregivers research the options and providers available in Central Texas. Free educational seminars, workshops, and conferences, with respite services available, are offered monthly, along with free monthly caregiver support groups in Austin and Round Rock. Free evidence-informed early memory loss support, with weekly cognitive activities and support for individuals with a diagnosis of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease or memory loss to improve the quality of life for participants. Memory Connections meets a four weekly Central Texas locations with sessions from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm., plus monthly caregiver support group for family members of Memory Connections participants. Health Equipment Lending Program
AGE’s durable medical equipment lending closet provides wheelchairs, walkers, shower benches, and other assistive devices to those in need at no cost. Learn more…
AGE Computer Lab – peer-based computer classes for seniors
AGE offers basic computer training and coaching to older adults interested in finding out how technology can enhance their lives. Classes are taught by volunteer instructors in an on-site lab for very low cost. Students can learn how to write letters, manage finances, organize and share photos, shop online, and correspond with family and friends. Learn more…
